Benchmark and Fair Testing.
Benchmark Tests The Benchmark Tests are district tests administered to all Duval students. The results of the spring FCATs are analyzed and the benchmarks attached to standards receiving the lowest scores are retested twice during the 2011-2012 school year, fall and winter.
F.A.I.R Tests
According to the state of Florida, school districts will test students who are in the proficiency levels of 1, 2, and 3 from the spring FCAT in Reading using the Florida Assessments for Instruction in Reading tests. These tests are administered in the beginning, middle, and end of the school year.
Each of these test provide information on how our students are performing and will assist us in predicting student success on the state test (FCAT). We are in the process of conducting goal setting sessions with our students. The guidance counselors are meeting with students during their sciences classes. Your child will receive a copy of the goal sheet to bring home and share with you. Please inquire. We are very excited about the active role that our students are taking in setting their educational goals and look forward to the gains that each child will make not only on the FCAT, but learning gains throughout the school year.
